Funeral services for Dr. Winfield S. Asquith, 94, were held in West Branch July 30 with the Rev. Max Paige officiating. Burial was in the Sixteen cemetery at Solon. Dr. Asquith died at a Solon care center July 27, following a long illness.

Born June 21, 1880, in Reynolds, Ill., he was a son of Theodore and Sarah Roth Asquith. He was married to Edna Ann Moore in Corning.

He was a graduate of the Chicago Veterinary college and practiced many years in What Cheer. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic lodge.

Surviving are a son, Robert, West Branch; a sister, Alma Unsicker, Des Moines; a grandchild and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
