Last rites for Curtis Henry Werling, 68, Atalissa, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home July 12 with the Rev. E. H. Lauer officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Pallbearers were Chester Dickey, Floyd Van Dusen, Lester Kephart, Ray Isabel, Ernest Lincoln and Mearl Nebergall.

Mr. Werlilng died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, July 10, following an extended illness.

The son of John W. and Dora M. Buxter Werling, he was born at Tipton Oct. 13, 1905 and was educated in the rural schools of Cedar county.

He was a farmer and had lived near Atalissa since 1943.

He was a member of the Lutheran church and the Loyal Order of the Moose, Tipton.

He is survived by 2 brothers, Elmer and Vernon, both of Atalissa and 2 sisters, Mrs. Cora Benson, Atalissa and Mrs. Albert (Gladys) Schoonover, West Liberty.
