Funeral services for Clair E. Hoyt, 90, were held at the Union cemetery in Livermore July 23 with the Rev. E. H. Lauer officiating. Mr. Hoyt died at his home in Tipton July 18 following an extended illness.
The son of Jean and Elsa F. Kimble Hoyt, he was born at Arnold June 5, 1884 and was educated in the rural Humboldt county schools.
A Tipton resident for 10 years he had been a farmer and a flagman for the Chicago Northwestern railroad.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Ethel) Becicka, Cedar Rapids; a granddaughter, 2 half sisters, Mrs. Anton (Bess) Penning and Margaret Van Houten, both of Humboldt; 2 half brothers, Pete Van Houten, Humboldt and Harley Van Houten, Harley.
He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a half sister.
