Funeral services for Parson Hines, 81, were held July 11 in the Horner Funeral home, Mechanicsville. The Rev. Donald Wooge officiated. Burial was in the Woodbridge cemetery, Buchanan.

Mrs. Floyd Siver was vocalist with Mrs. E. H. Littig at the organ. Busch-Dennis American Legion Post 309 conducted military services. Mearle Jackson, Erwin Wagner, David Edwards, Clarence Maher, O.H. Curtis and Harold Fisher were pallbearers.

Mr. Hines died July 8 in the Cedar Manor Nursing home, Tipton, following a lengthy illness.

Parson Hines was born Sept. 1, 1892, the son of Myron and Ruth Ann (Fairley) Hines. He attended the Mt. Zion rural school and farmed most of his life, living south of Tipton for many years. He moved to Mechanicsville 6 years ago, where he resided with his sister, Vera. He was a member of the MP detachment in World War I and belonged to the American Legion.

Mr. Hines is survived by 2 sisters, Vera Hines and Mrs. Amber Kruger, both of Mechanicsville; and 3 brothers, Clarence, Marion; Howard, Stanwood and Charles, Wilton. His parents, 2 sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
