Mrs. Bertha Leatherby, 83, died recently at a nursing home in San Jose, Calif. Burial was in Pamona, Calif. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Knight.

The daughter of Floyd and Clara Casterline, she was born in Tipton. She was married to William G. Mathews. Following his death she married Charles A. Leatherby who preceded her in death. They operated an appliance and general merchandise store in Tipton.

Mrs. Leatherby had lived in California for approximately 25 years.
