Funeral services for Mrs. Paul (Clarice) E. Buchmayer, 36, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home June 12, with Dr. Glenn Parrott officiating. Burial was at Red Oak cemetery near Tipton.

Pallbearers were Alfred and Richard Worrell, Milo Lauffer, Dean Hieber, Edward Steinbrech, Larry Rutt and Clarence Haverkamp.

Mrs. Buchmayer died June 9 as a result of injuries received in a 3-car accident on Highway 1 in Iowa City at 6:30 p.m. June 7. She was one of 8 people injured in the accident.

According to Iowa City police, a car driven by William Lycan Dane, 19, Iowa City, failed to slow for a left turning car driven by Thoams T. Tuggle, 32, Iowa City and swerved to the right, careening broadside into a third car driven by Mildred Bream, 39, Iowa City.

Mrs. Buchmayer, her husband and their 2 children were in the Bream car. One daughter, Debra, 15, was released from Mercy hospital June 9 and her husband and a second daughter, Wendy, 13, were treated at the hospital and released.

Charges were filed against Dane.

Mrs. Buchmayer, the daughter of Clarence and Bernice Rickard, was born in Tipton Sept. 4, 1937 and graduated from Tipton high school in 1955. She married Paul Buchmayer in Solon, Dec. 3, 1956. She was employed by the Iowa City Community school district.

She had lived in Iowa City for 12 years, moving from Solon. She was a member of the Eagles in Iowa City.

She is survived by her husband, her mother, Mrs. Bernice Rickard Sharp, Pleasant Valey, 2 daughters, Wendy Jo and Debbie, both at home; a brother, Robert Rickard, Hinsdale, Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Mearl (Marvel) Woode, Tipton.
