Funeral services for Mrs. Hertha (Hattie) Stout, 91, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home April 17 with Dr. Glenn Parrott officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ken Frankhouser, Jim Shontz, Elwood Steffen and Henry Wiskus.

Mrs. Stout died at the home of her niece, Mrs. Mary Tank, April 15.

The daughter of Henry and Henryetta Hester Bock, she was born at Durant Nov. 7, 1882. She was educated in the rural schools of the county and was married to Edward M. Stout at Cedar Rapids Feb. 14, 1910.

She was a lifetime resident of the Cedar county area and spent most of her life in the Tipton area.

She is survived by 4 nieces, Mrs. Ella Findley, Clarence; Mrs. Thomas (Berniece) Tipton, West Branch; Mrs. Mary Tank, Tipton and Mrs. Donald (Florence) Berger, Van Nuys, Calif.; also 2 nephews, Henry Nalley, Oxford Junction and Harold Fell, Juneau, Alaska. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
