Funeral services for Mrs. Martha J. Anderson, 90, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home April 1 with the Rev. Calvin Schumacher officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Alvin Christensen, J. Prentice York, Albert Strefling, Alan Helmold, Jerry Hubler and Charles Whetstine. Mrs. Alden Klahn was vocalist and Mrs. Arnold Swan organist. Mrs. Walter Nelson and Mrs. Neil Carstensen were in charge of flowers.

Mrs. Anderson died at the Clarence Nursing home March 29 following a long illness.

The daughter of Joshua and Frances Wells McKinzie, she was born at Sedalia, Mo. March 19, 1884 and was educated in the public schools of Edwards county, Ill.

She was married to Lee Anderson at Albion, Ill. May 1, 1901. She had lived in the Tipton area since 1912 and had been at the Clarence Nursing home for the past year after living in Clarence for 4 years.

She is a member of United Church of Christ and Past Noble Grand of the Tipton IOOF.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Herman (Margaret) Helmold, Clarence; a son, Earl, Tipton; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 daughters, 4 brothers, a half brother, a sister and a half sister.
