Last rites for Robert Clifford Bolton, 73, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home April 3 with the Rev. Fred Van Tatenhove officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Arnold Henning, Duane Bolton, Timothy and Daniel Luettjohann, Richard Roszell and Lon LaRue. Merrill Womach was vocalist.

Mr. Bolton, a lifetime resident of the Tipton area, died at his home March 31. He had been in ill health for a considerable time.

The son of Harry C. and Minnie M. Carl Bolton, he was born near Tipton Dec. 14, 1900 and received his education in the Tipton schools. He was married to Minnie Hartley Luettjohann at Cedar Rapids and had lived in Tipton for 29 years.

He served as custodian at the Tipton school for many years and until approximately a year ago, had been custodian for the Tipton Newspapers.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Richard, St. Joseph, Mo.; 3 stepsons, Donald Luettjohann, Cedar Bluff; Charles Luettjohann, Tipton and Delmar, Los Angeles, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a brother, Ernest Bolton, Tipton.

He was preceded in death by a sister and 6 brothers.
