Memorial services for Mrs. Helen Hoyman, 97, were held at the Hayden Funeral home in Olin, March 4, with the Rev. Lloyd Dutro officiating. Burial was in the Stanwood cemetery. Pallbearers were Russell Rhoads, Carl Haesemeyer, Harlan Voelker, Elmer Meyer, Donald Smith and Edwin Davidson. Mrs. Ann Lasack was organist.

Mrs. Hoyman died at the Clarence convalescent home March 2. She had been ill since Jan. 1972 and had lived at the Clarence home since January, 1968.

The daughter of James and Mary George, she was born at Mechanicsville Jan.8, 1977. The George family moved to Stanwood in 1891 where she was a member of the first class to be graduated from Stanwood high school. She attended Iowa State Teachers college and taught in the rural schools of Cedar county and clerked in local stores.

She was married to Charles Hoyman March 25, 1903. Mr. Hoyman died in October, 1962. She was also preceded in death by a brother.

Mrs. Hoyman was a member of the Stanwood United Presbyterian church, the Stanwood Woman's club and the Ways and Means Society of the church.

She is survived by a daughter, Verna, Normal, Ill., 2 sons, Willard G., Olin and Leland, Fort Dodge; 5 grandchildren and ? great-grandchildren.
