Funeral services for Mrs. Grace M. Waddell, 87, were held at the Dye Funeral home Jan. 23, with the Rev. Ernest Lauer officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Robert, Richard, Phillip, Roland and Rhea Hambright and Lester Dark. George Thordsen was vocalist and Mrs. Arnold Swan organist.

Mrs. Waddell died at her home Jan. 20.

The daughter of Joseph and Annette Nieman McCormick, she was born near Tipton June 29, 1886 and graduated from Tipton high school. She taught in the rural schools of the Stanwood area. She was married to James Albert Waddell at Cedar Rapids, Jan. 23, 1918.

A lifelong resident of the Tipton area she was an active member of the United Church of Christ, the Garden club and the birthday club.

She is survived by a foster son, Lester Dark, Keokuk and 2 cousins, Mrs. Verda Wilson, Tipton and W. Vern Owen, Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1964 and a brother, Charles.
