Last rites for Raymond William Sherman, 60, Bennett farmer, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home Dec. 12 with the Rev. Dennis Lamont officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ralph Rorick, Hugo Regennitter, Oscar Dahl, Harry Schott, Hubert Kleppe and Leroy Lafrenz. Mrs. Ruth Riedesel was organist and Mrs. Everett Von Muenster vocalist.

Mr. Sherman died at his home near Bennett Dec. 9.

The son of William and Belle Madsen Sherman, he was born at Olin March 13, 1913 and graduated from Olin high school in 1931. He was married to Lucille Ruser at Davenport Aug. 30, 1940.

He had farmed in the Bennett area for 33 years and was a member of the Cedar County Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his wife and 3 sisters, Mrs. John (Thelma) Toay, Warren, Ill.; Mrs. Charles (Wilma) Huston, Cedar Falls and Mrs. Esther Albaugh, Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Kay.
