Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Hamann, 84, were held at Durant Oct. 20 with the Rev. L. Jack Ehlers in charge. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mrs. Hamann died at Mercy hospital, Davenport, Oct. 16 following an extended illness.

Mrs. Hamann was born Aug. 12, 1889 in Durant, the daughter of Eggert and Katherine Alpen. She married Edward Hamann in Davenport on Dec. 20, 1911. She and her husband farmed near Sunbury until their retirement 5 years ago at which time they moved to Durant.

Surviving are a son, Harold, Prairie Village, Kan.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Luella) Hein, Clarence; and Mrs. Robert (Violet) Wildfish, Durant; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Elma Schwartz and Mrs. Melinda Nissen, both of Durant.

She was preceded in death by a son, 3 brothers, 3 sisters and her husband in 1971.
