Funeral services for Michael Joseph Pieruccini, 72, a former resident of Tipton, were held at St. Mary church Oct. 10 with the Rev. George Snell officiating. Burial was in St. Mary cemetery.

Mr. Pieruccini died at Colonial Manor nursing home in Davenport Oct. 6 following an extended illness.

Pallbearers were Charles Gibbons, Leo Miller, W. A. Hobstetter, Russell Wethington, Donald Bahmler and Earl Howe.

The son of Fred and Mae (Flossie) Pieruccini, he was born at Lyons (now a part of Clinton) Aug. 14, 1901 and the family moved to Tipton where they operated a confectionary for many years. He was educated in the Tipton schools.

Mr. Pieruccini was married to Gertrude Gundelach at Rock Island, Ill. June 4, 1963. He was a trainmaster for the Chicago and North Western railroad. He had also worked for the Riverside Foundry in Bettendorf. He had lived in Missouri Valley and Rock Island, Ill. and had been a resident of Davenport for the past 3 years.

He is survived by 2 sisters, Mrs. Mary Martinell, Savanah, Ill. and Mrs. Genevieve Plummer, Chicago, Ill.; 2 brothers, Andrew, Savanah, Ill. and Fred, Chicago, Ill. He was preceded in death by a brother and 2 sisters.
