September 27, 1973 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services for Mrs. Leslie (Mary Bernice) Drumbarger, 62, were held at the Sheets and Son Funeral home Sept. 22 with the Rev. Thomas Wright officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were James Shontz, LeRoy Meiers, Eldon Dietz, George Lemkau, George Stuckey and Lee Johnson. Mrs. Irma Crawford was organist.

Mrs. Drumbarger died at Cedar Manor Sept. 20 following a long illness.

The daughter of William and Anna Otten Michaels, she was born near Onslow July 19, 1911 and attended the Amber schools. She was married to Leslie W. Drumbarger at Anamosa July 13.

A practical nurse, she had been a resident of Tipton since 1931. She was a member of Baptist church and the Rebekah lodge.

She is survived by her husband, a son, Wayne, Tipton and a daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Margaret) Bair; 4 sisters, Mrs. Bernard (Elizabeth) Higgins, Mason City; Mrs. J. E. (Catherine) Meade, Des Moines; Mrs. Herman (Ruth) Osterkamp, Tipton and Mrs. Walter (Dorothy) Tuehl, Monticello; 3 brothers, Henry Michaels, Cedar Rapids; Carl Michaels, Central City and Paul Michaels, Fairfield and 6 grandchildren.
