Funeral services for Chris Griem, 67, retired owner of the Bennett Locker and Processing plant, were held at Peace United Church of Christ, Bennett, Aug. 25. Burial was in the Clarence cemetery. The Rev. Calvin Schumacher officiated. Mrs. Ernest Riedesel was organist.

Pallbearers were Harold Guyer, Peter Thies, Wilbur Eggert, Leroy LaFrenz, Leroy Moeller and Eugene Edler. Mrs. Walter Wiebke and Mrs. Lester Rix were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Griem died at his home Aug. 23.

The son of Chris and Mary Gertz Griem, he was born at Clarence June 18, 1906. He was married to Louella Cashman at Anamosa, Feb. 14, 1938. He was a past master of Mt. Hope Lodge, AF & AM, Clarence.

He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Judy) Greiner, Logansport, Ind., and Mrs. Dan (Diane) Madorin, Lowden; a son, Gary, Bennett; 11 grandchildren, 3 sisters, Mrs. Minnie Meyer, Hillsboro, N.D.; Mrs. Dora Meyer and Mrs. Marie Bark, both of Clarence, and a brother, Ed, Clarence.
