Last rites for George Franklin Montz, 70, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home Aug. 13, with the Rev. E. H. Lauer officiating. Burial was in Inland cemetery.

Pallbearers were Tom Johnson, Harley Steinke, Glenn Siebel, Walter Popp, Norman Rekemeyer and Don Motz. Mrs. Don Wehde and Mrs. Henry Mente were in charge of flowers. Terri Thompson was vocalist and Mrs. Irma Crawford organist.

Mr. Montz died at his home in Tipton Aug. 10.

The son of Hiram H. and Daisy E. Biefeldt Montz, he was born near Bennett Dec. 9, 1902 and was educated in the schools of Cedar county. He spent his life in the Bennett area until moving to Tipton a few years ago. He had been a truck driver for the Buttolph Grain company. He never married.

He is survived by a sister, Bessie M. Montz, Tipton and several cousins. He was preceded in death by an infant brother.
