August 9, 1973 - The Tipton Conservative

Last rites for Mrs. William (Kate) Brockmeyer, 79, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home Aug. 7 with the Rev. Allan C. Paige officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Hiram Long, Verl Nebergall, Evan Clemmens, LeRoy Brockmeyer, Orville Long and Harold Conley. Mrs. Irma Crawford was organist. Mrs. Brockmeyer died at Grandview Nursing center, Oelwein, Aug. 4 following a short illness.

Honor, daughter of Melvin and Anna E. Long Wilson, was born near Tipton Dec. 17, 1893 and was educated in the school for the deaf at Council Bluffs. She spent most of her life in Cedar and Muscatine county, moving to Oelwein 6 years ago.

She was married to William Brockmeyer at West Liberty Nov. 28, 1964.

She was a member of the Word of God Lutheran Church for the Deaf and a former member of the Rochester Methodist church.

She is survived by her husband, 2 brothers, Elwood Wilson, Cedar Rapids and Calvin Wilson, Tipton; 2 step-children, Mrs. Tom (Bette) Sniffin, Wadena and LeRoy Brockmeyer, Oelwein, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters.
