Funeral services for William Henry (Bill) Schneekoth, 74, were held at the First United Church of Christ July 30 with the Rev. Ernest Lauer officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery with Masonic rites at the graveside.

Pallbearers were Russell Willer, Walter Graham, Lyle Grove, Ralph Werling, Walter Rismiller and Max Werling. Terri Thompson was vocalist and Mrs. Arnold Swan was organist.

The son of John and Elisabeth Dosdal Schneekloth, he was born at Malcom April 2, 1899, and graduated from Malcom high school and attended Brown Business college at Davenport. He was cashier of the Malcom bank and operated a grocery in Malcom before coming to Tipton where he first operated a grocery and then a shoe store, now owned by Walter Graham. He had been working as a salesman for the Donohue Insurance and Real Estate. He also served for a time as a Cedar county inheritance tax appraiser.

He was married to Ruth Miriam Molison at Des Moines Oct. 1, 1921.

He was a member of First United Church of Christ, serving as trustee and elder; and was a member of the Masonic lodge, Cedar No. 11, AF & AM; the Davenport Consistory and KAABA Temple of the Shrine. He served in World War I as a member of a motor transport company and was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Ann Malone, Cedar Rapids; a grandson, William and a granddaughter, Kathleen Ruth Malone, also of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
