Services for Mrs. Elva C. Rife, 81, Brandon, were held at 2 p.m. July 24 at Sheets & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. The Rev. E. H. Lauer officiated at the service. Merrill Womach was vocalist and the National Music service provided the music.

Pallbearers were all grandsons, Dennis Fabor, Keith Wood, Jerry Wood, Ronald Rife, Michael Gade and Robert Leaf.

Mrs. Rife died July 22 in Brandon after an extended illness. She was born Dec. 16, 1891 in Reardon, Ill. to George F. and Mary Snyder Schisler and was educated in the Reardon schools. She married Joseph Hugh Rife June 10, 1908 in Lexington, Nebr. and was a housewife. She was a former Tipton resident and resided in Brandon the past seven years. She was a member of the First United Methodist church, Tipton.

She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Marie) Wood, Rochester, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Starkey, Brandon, Mrs. Earl (Elva) Gade, Tipton, Mrs. Hazel Nordyke, Brandon, Mrs. Robert (Darlene) Leaf, Tipton and Mrs. Dean (Donna) Fabor, Belle Plaine, four sons, Floyd and Glen, Tipton, Paul of Kewanee, Ill. and Marvin of Knob Noster, Mo., 30 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one daughter, one brother, one sister and two grandchildren.
