Last rites for Mrs. Loren (Dorothy Mitchell) Shoup, 70, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home May 21 with Dr. Glenn Parrott officiating. Burial was in Monmouth cemetery, Monmouth.

Pallbearers were George Carpentier, John Sumpter, Neal McNeal, Don Welty, Max Crawford and Ben Otten. Mrs. Irma Crawford was organist.

Mrs. Shoup died at Iowa City May 18, following an extended illness.

The daughter of Tolbert and Susie Ann Whitehead Mitchell, she was born at Monmouth Dec. 25, 1902 and was educated in the Tipton schools. She was married to Loren Shoup at Rock Island, Ill. Feb. 7, 1959. She was a clerk and a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Methodist church.

She is survived by her husband, East Moline, Ill.; a brother, Donald Mitchell, Tipton and a sister, Helen Mitchell, Tipton. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
