Last rites for Mrs. Clara Christina Carroll, 78, Atalissa, were held at the Dye Funeral home May 7 with the Rev. Ernest Lauer officiating. Burial was in the Van Horn cemetery at Lowden.

Pall bearers were Cyril Olson, Haven Hines, Lee McQuillen, Ernest Wagner and Earl Anderson.

Mrs. Carroll died at University hospitals, Iowa City, May 5.

The daughter of Ernest and Luise Richman Rixe, she was born at Bennett Aug. 17, 1894 and graduated from Bennett high school. She was married to Edward Carroll in Des Moines in 1918.

She had lived in the Bennett, Lowden and Atalissa areas. She was confirmed in Zion Evangelical church, Lowden.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Frieda Hamilton, Tipton and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Ernest Rixe Carroll.
