Funeral services for Gary Richard Lentfer, 19, Wilton Junction, who died unexpectedly at Mercy hospital, Davenport, June 17, were June 20 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran church, Bennett. Burial was in Inland cemetery. The Rev. Paul Mueller officiated, with Harold Wacker Jr. vocalist, accompanied by David Brockmeyer.

He was born May 2, 1951 at Muscatine, the son of Ernest and Pearl Hubbard Lentfer. He was a lifetime resident of the Bennett area and a graduate of the Bennett schools in 1969. He was attending Concordia college, St. Paul, Minn., where he was studying for the ministry, at the time of his death. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church where he served as a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Walther League.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Pearl Lentfer, Wilton Junction; a sister, Mrs. Leigh (Lorita) Bell, Bellport, New York and a brother, Robert, Iowa City; 4 nephews and a niece. His father and a brother preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were Gene Schroeder, Curtis Schroeder, Dale Voss, Richard Hoffman, Gene Warren and David Burmeister. Mrs. Erwin Voss and Mrs. Vernon Voss were in charge of flowers.
