18 June 1970 - The Tipton Conservative

Last rites for Frederick C. (Ted) Miller, 77, former Tipton resident, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home June 16 and at Excelsior Springs, Mo., June 17. The Rev. E. H. Lauer was in charge of the service in Tipton. Mrs. Arnold Swan was organist. Members of the Excelsior Springs Legion were pallbearers. Burial was in Excelsior Springs.

Mr. Miller died unexpectedly at Jane Lamb hospital, Clinton, June 14.

The son of George Frederick and Finetta Barbara Schley Miller, he was born at Oasis in Johnson county and was educated the rural schools of Cedar county. He was married to Martha Lucketts at Excelsior Springs, Mo., May 8, 1920.

A painter and decorator, he lived in Tipton for many years later moving to Excelsior Springs and had been a resident of Clinton for 4 years.

He served as a private with Co. F, 351st Infantry, in World War I and was a 50 year member of the Clyde Gustine post of the American Legion at Excelsior Springs, Mo.

He is survived by 2 brothers, Virgil, Clinton, and Everett (Buster), Tipton, and 4 sisters, Mrs. Clare (Lillian) Frederick and Mrs. Gladys Anderson, both of Tipton; Mrs. Guy (Grace) Schumacher, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Earl (Blanche) Boisselier, Glen Ellyn, Ill. He was preceded in death by his wife and a sister.
