Funeral services for Thomas Clemmens, 56, were held at St. John's United Church of Christ March 16 with the Rev. Calvin Schumacher officiating. Burial was in the Clarence cemetery.

Pallbearers were Leroy Gade, Ray McDaniel, Robert Hunwardsen, Robert Woode, Wayne Syring and Richard Kemmann. Mrs. Howard Thein, Mrs. Norbert Ebert and Mrs. Laurena Lovell were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Clemmens died following a heart attack at his home March 14. He was born at Tipton Jan. 19, 1914 and married to Esther Busch March 23, 1938 at Davenport.

He was employed with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad and was chief of the Clarence Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors are his wife, a son, Ronald, Iowa City; 2 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Essie Liercke, Clarence; Gladys Urling, Wyoming; and Ethel Gordon, Olin and 3 brothers, Lester and Melvin, Clarence; and Jim, Cedar Rapids.
