MECHANICSVILLE - Earl Becker, Mechanicsville's town marshal, was found dead at about 7 p.m. Tuesday in a farm home northeast of Stanwood. Cause of death was undetermined and an autopsy was being performed at press time to determine the cause.

Mr. Becker was helping remodel a farm home for his daughter, Mrs. James Brendes, and family.

The body was found by members of the family who were nearby.
