Funeral services for David Moon, 89, were held at St. Mary church Feb. 23, with the Rev. Ray J. Pacha officiating. Burial was in St. Mary cemetery.

Pallbearers were Louis Wagner, John Schneider, Lloyd Meyer, John Waters, Jack Handley and Frances Mahoney.

Mr. Moon died at University hospitals, Iowa City, Feb. 20 following a long illness.

The son of William and Hannah Lanigan Moon, he was born Jan. 16, 1881 at Hubbard and attended the rural Hardin county schools. He was married to Irene Brown at Zearing Nov. 14, 1914.

A retired farm and industrial laborer, he had been a resident of Tipton for 40 years. He was a member of St. Mary church.

Mr. Moon is survived by 4 sons, Lester, Henry and David, all of Salem, Ore.; John, Lacoma, Wash.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Curtis (Twila) Roper, LaGrande, Ore and Mrs. Kenneth (Phyllis) Harris, Salem, Oreg.; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
