Final rites for Elmer Steinke, 56, Lowden insurance man, were held at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Lowden, Feb. 7 with the Rev. Harold Koenig officiating. Burial was in Massillon cemetery.

Pallbearers were Art Kruckenberg, William Stout, Gaylon Esbaum, Harry Schoff, Gary Coppess and Raymond Conrad. Wilma Riedesel was organist and Elwood Fuehling soloist.

Mr. Steinke died at University hospitals, Iowa City, Feb. 5, following an illness of 3 weeks.

The son of William and Nora Hamdorf Steinke, he was born in Massillon township June 6, 1913 and was married to Louisia Ganzer July 16, 1959 in Davenport. He operated the Steinke Insurance agency until the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, 2 sons, George and Gerald; a brother, William, Lowden; 3 sisters, Mrs. Freda Bunge and Mrs. Paul (Alma) Nordmeyer, both of Lowden and Mrs. Arthur (Velma) Peters, Clarence. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.
