Last rites for Paul William Weih, 58, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home Feb. 7 with burial in the Durant cemetery. The Rev. James Nelson officiated.

Pallbearers were Norman Kotz, Norman Regennitter, Darrell DeWulf, Harold Schnack, Otto Lester Schnack and Paul Geadelmann. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Riedesel were in charge of music. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Horstmann and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rhoads were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Weih died at Mercy hospital Davenport Feb. 5, following a long illness due to diabetes. During this illness he lost a leg and later his sight because of the disease. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to diabetes research.

The son of Henry J. and Clara L. Flenker Weih, he was born at Bennett, Dec. 8, 1911 and was educated in the Bennett schools. He was married to Nola C. Schnede Dec. 14, 1932. He farmed until he was forced to retire because of illness.

A lifelong resident of the Bennett community, he is survived by his wife, a son, Dean, Tipton; a daughter, Mrs. Darrell (Diane) Kleppe, Stanwood; 6 grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Weih, Bennett; a brother, Clarence, Davenport and a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Henrietta) Kugler, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
