Funeral services for Art Dilley, 87, retired Bennett grocer, were held Jan. 31 at the Bennett Methodist church with the Rev. J. Van Mantgem officiating. Burial was in Inland cemetery.

Pallbearers were LeRoy Wiese, Norman Kotz, Harley Steinke, Philip Hambright, Harold Smith and Wilbur Eggert. Mrs. Harold Smith and Mrs. Richard Hein were in charge of flowers. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Riedesel were in charge of music.

Mr. Dilley died at Mercy hospital, Davenport Jan.28, following a long illness.

The son of J. Wallace and Sarah Leathberry Dilley, he was born at Bennett July 6, 1882 and was educated in the Bennett schools. He was married to Lena M. Manning at Marion July 8, 1908.

A resident of the Bennett area for most of his life, he operated a grocery in Bennett for many years.

He is survived by his wife, a brother, Harry, Waukon and a niece.
