REINKING, HASENMEYER, MEIER, MORLOCK

Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Reinking, 94, the oldest resident of Clarence, were held at St. John's United Church of Christ, Jan. 28 with the Rev. Calvin Schumacher officiating. Music was furnished by the church choir with Mrs. Robert Hasselbusch at the organ.

Pallbearers were Gene Evans, Lewis Sabatka, Wilfred Meier, Eric Morlock, Mark Morlock Jr. and Henry Klatt. In charge of floral tributes were Mrs. Jerold Hartog and Mrs. Henry Dircks. Burial was in the Clarence cemetery.

Louis Hasenmeyer was born March 7, 1875 at Leese, Hanover Province, Germany. She died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, after a brief illness Jan. 25. She came to Cedar county in 1889 and was married to Henry Reinking on June 24, 1896. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Reinking was an active member of St. John's church, the Cedar County Historical society and a member of the Order of the Easter Star. She had her first airplane ride at the age of 87, when she flew to England to visit relatives. At the same age, she developed an interest in art with paint-by-number, later began painting free-handed. She has a number of works to her credit.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Irene Meier and Esther Reinking, both of Clarence, and Mrs. Mark (Paula) Morlock, Lompoc, Calif.; 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
