Funeral services for Mrs. Maude Lula Sarby, 86, were held Jan. 9 at the Horner Funeral home, Mechanicsville, with the Rev. William Wills officiating.

Mrs. Sarby died Jan. 6 at Cedar Manor, Tipton. Born at Gardner, Ill., Oct. 28, 1883, she was the daughter of Leroy; and Isabelle Dodge. She was educated in schools in Jones county and married Joseph M. Sarby Jr., May 26, 1899.

She was a homemaker and lived in Olin and Mechanicsville.

Mrs. Sarby is survived by 5 daughters, Mrs. Lee (Evangeline) Park, Mechanicsville; Mrs. Peter (Blanche) Von Sprecken, Wyoming; Mrs. Richard (Erma) Esbaum, Lowden; Mrs. Carl (Osceola) Feddersen, Olin; Mrs. Roy (Ethel) Miller, East Moline, Ill.; a son, Chester, Anamosa; 9 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Rozella English, Wyoming; and Mrs. Lucy Huston, Onslow.
