Harry Lilienthal, 72, a resident of Durant for 13 years, died in the Wilton Nursing home, Jan. 27 after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Jan. 29). Burial will be in Durant cemetery.

He was born Sept. 2, 1897; in Cedar county, a son of Henry and Lillian Lilienthal. He was united in marriage to Edna Gollnitz, Feb. 4, 1922 in Davenport. The couple farmed in Scott county until retiring in 1957.

Mrs. Lilienthal preceded him in death in 1965.

Surviving are 3 sons; Eldon, Tipton, Earl, New Liberty, and Kenneth, Durant; 4 daughters; Mrs. Chris (Bernice) Freese, Lowden; Mrs. Dale (Lois) Burmeister, Muscatine; Mrs. LaMoyne (Elaine) Sorgenfrey, Durant, and Miss Marian Lilienthal of Davenport; 6 brothers: Albert, Raymond, Alvin and Allen, all of Durant; Arthur, Bennett, and Lawrence, Wilton; 3 sisters; Mrs. Elmer (Meta) Otto, Durant; Mrs. Ralph (Alice) Sievers, New Liberty and Mrs. Carl (Stella) Ploen, Wilton; also 18 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
