Funeral services for Otto Herman Hilscher, 87, Lowden, were held at Zion United Church of Christ, Lowden Jan. 3 with the Rev. Emil Burrichter officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Frank Mostaert, Herman Gottschalk, Gerald Kemmann, Arnold Koch, Fred Wiebel and Ed Conrad. Mrs. Don Breneman was organist.

Mr. Hilscher died Dec. 31 at the Utopia Nursing home, Tipton, following a long illness.

Mr. Hilscher was born on Feb. 21, 1882 at Lowden, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl T. Hilscher. He was a lifelong resident of Lowden and worked on the railroad for many years.

He is survived by a nephew Richard Kintzel, Sr., Clarence; 3 nieces, Mrs. Norma Reinking, Lowden; Mrs. Bertha DeWald, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Howard Lausen, Tipton.

He was preceded in death by 4 sisters and a brother in infancy.
