11 December 1969 - The Tipton Conservative

William H. Luedeman, 84, a former resident of the Clarence and Stanwood communities, died Nov. 28, at Monticello, following an illness of several months. Funeral services were held Dec. 1 at St. Peter and Paul Lutheran church, Monticello, conducted by the Rev. Norton J. McCaughn. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dale Starman, Keith Schlemmer, Frederick Lehrman, Carroll Schemmer, Leonard Luedeman and Herbert Lehrman.

Mr. Luedeman was born Jan. 23, 1885, the son of Joseph and Caroline Grabet Luedeman, near Clarence. He was educated in the Cedar county schools and was a lifetime farmer. He was married Feb. 24, 1909, to Emma Brimm at Wyoming.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Mrs. Otto (Clara) Schlemmer, Monticello; Mrs. Lester (Arleen) Starman, Burlington; Mrs. Lavern (Nadine) Barmore, Osseo, Minn.; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; 4 brothers; Henry Luedeman, Burlington; Louis Luedeman, Stanwood; Fred Luedeman, Stanwood and Carl Luedeman, Cedar Rapids; 5 sisters, Mrs. Herman (Anna) Lehrman and Mrs. Paul (Ida) Lehrman, both of Stanwood; Mrs. Marie Walbert, Lombard, Ill.; Mrs. Axel (Minnie) Bjork, Aurora, Ill., and Mrs. Frieda Wernicke, North Highland, Calif.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
