Funeral services for Vernon R. Paustian, 69, Sunbury, were held at Davenport Oct. 27, with burial in the Durant cemetery.

Mr. Paustian took his life in the garage at his home in Sunbury Oct. 22. Dr. Walter Kopsa, Cedar county medical examiner, said that his death was due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He is survived by his wife, 5 daughters, Mrs. Marcus Henry, Washington; Mrs. James Mordecoi and Mrs. Tom Keller, both of Davenport; Mrs. Gary Holtz, Fort Eustis, Va. and Venice, at home; a son, Charles, with the army in Germany; his father, A. C. Paustian, Davenport; 5 grandchildren and a brother, Arnold, Durant.
