Funeral services for Fred Stout, 80, were held Oct. 14 at the Sheets and Son funeral home with the Rev. E. H. Lauer officiating. Burial was in the Shawver cemetery.

Pallbearers were Carl Frederick, Harry Dodds, Claude Mitchell, Everett Miller, Earl Baker and Joe Bishop. Mildred Suchomel and Mrs. Joe Moore were in charge of flowers. Mrs. Arnold Swan was organist.

Mr. Stout died unexpectedly at his home Oct. 11.

The son of Jacob and Jane Wagaman Stout, he was born near Tipton May 19, 1889 and was educated in the Buchanan school. He was married to Angeline Achenbach at Tipton Oct. 26, 1910 and farmed in the Tipton area for many years.

He is survived by 3 sons, Gerald, West Branch; Harold, Tipton and Carl, Cedar Rapids, a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Dorothy) Wehde, Tipton, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Ralph and Glen, Tipton and a sister, Sarah Stout, Tipton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, 3 brothers and a sister.
