Funeral services for Mrs. Mary M. Thies, 79, will be held at the Sheets and Son funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9 with the Rev. Eugene Miller officiating. Burial will be in Inland cemetery.

Pallbearers are 8 grandsons, Rennie and Gary Mowry and Joel, Danny, David, Michael, Kevin and Robert Thies. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Hambright and Mrs. Richard Barden are in charge of flowers. Mrs. Irma Crawford is organist.

Mrs. Thies died following a heart attack at her home in Bennett Sept. 6.

The daughter of Peter and Susie Sopko Tulenchik, she was born May 22, 1890 in East Liverpool, Ohio and was educated in the schools of Columbiana county, Ohio. She was married to Herman Thies at Jackson, Minn. Oct. 10, 1910.

She had been a resident of Cedar county for 50 years and had lived in Bennett for 30 years.

She is survived by 3 sons, Harry and Henry, Clarence and Peter, Bennett; 2 daughters, Mrs. Leslie (Rosemary) Mowry, Bennett and Mrs. Joyn (Christine) Stock, Akron, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Michael Tulenchik, Pine River, Minn. and 3 sisters, Mrs. Susie Smith, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. John Thompson, Wheeling, W. Va. and Katherine Tulenchik, Toronto, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter and a brother.
