11 September 1969 - The Tipton Conservative

Last rites for Edward F. Voss, 60, Atalissa area farmer, were held Sept. 5 at the Sheets and Son Funeral home with the Rev. James Lusher officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Walter Behrens, Raymond Clemmens, Lloyd Wood, Harold Wehde, Bill Stiff and Jim Walker. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Anderson were in charge of flowers. Mrs. Donald Stiff was organist.

Graveside services were conducted by the Rochester Golden Rule lodge No. 24 AF&AM.

Mr. Voss died at Muscatine general hospital Sept. 3 following an extended illness.

The son of Frank F. and Margaretha Warn Voss, he was born at Wilton and was educated in the rural schools of Cedar county. He was married to Dorothy Van Atta at West Liberty Dec. 31, 1933.

The couple farmed near Atalissa for 26 years.

He was a member of the Rochester Methodist church, the Masons and the Moose lodge.

He is survived by his wife, his mother, Mrs. Margaret Voss, Tipton; 2 sons, Ronald, West Liberty and James, Iowa City; 2 brothers, Leonard, Tipton and John, Atalissa and 2 sisters, Mrs. Walter (Leona) Gritton and Mrs. Harvey (Anna Mae) Laucamp, both of Tipton.

He was preceded in death by his father.
