Last rites for Eva Longerbeam, 85, Downey were held June 25 at the Downey Baptist church with the Rev. David Raymond officiating. Burial was in the Downey cemetery.

Miss Longerbeam died at an Iowa City nursing home June 22, following a long illness.

She was born Oct. 6, 1883, in Downey the daughter of George and Mary Ann Stebler Longerbeam. She was a life time resident of Downey where she worked in the Downey Post office.

She also taught music to private students.

She was a member of the Downey Baptist church for which she was the organist for a number of years.

Surviving are a niece, Arlene Hess, Downey, and 2 nephews, Dr. Jerrold Longerbeam of Riverside, Calif, and Orville Longerbeam of Leewood, Kan.
