Final rites for Dr. Elmer O. Johnson, 51, Solon, a native of Mechanicsville, were held at Solon June 13 with the Rev. Patrick W. McCoy officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Dr. Johnson died in Veterans hospital, Iowa City, June 10 after becoming ill at his home.

Dr. Johnson moved to Solon 2 years ago after having practiced chiropracty in Kahoka, Mo., for 20 years. He was born March 12, 1918, in Mechanicsville. June 7, 1947, he married Dorothy Worrell Johnson.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Gary; his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Johnson, Mechanicville; 3 sisters, Mrs. Archie Rudd, Central City; Mrs. Forest Niles, Wilton, and Mrs. John Schafer, Robbins; 4 brothers, Lee W. and Willard, both of Mechanicsville; Leonard, Brainerd, Minn., and John, Lisbon.
