Funeral services for Otto (Ott) Stiff, 82, Pleasant Valley, former Bennett resident, were held June 16 at the Rochester Methodist church with Rev. James Lusher officiating. Burial was in the Rochester cemetery.

Pallbearers were Phillip Hambright, Elmer McQuillen, Sylvan Kleppe, Wilbur Eggert, Tom Johnson and Walter Popp. Mr. and Mrs. James Stiff were in charge of flowers and Mrs. Harold Conley was organist.

Mr. Stiff died June 13 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Eugene Levesen, in Davenport June 13, following an extended illness.

The son of John Clayton and Margaret Clara Rachford Stiff, he was born at Morris March 12, 1887 and attended the rural schools of Cedar county.

He was married to Lola S. Madin at Davenport Dec. 30, 1908. A farmer for many years, he had lived in Bennett from 1945 to 1968 and in Pleasant Valley for the last year. He was a member of the Bennett Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Bess) Levesen, Davenport; 2 sons, Elmer (Steve), Providence, Ky. and Ivan H., Pleasant Valley; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 7 brothers, 4 sisters and a son, Ardelle, in infancy.
