Last rites for Erwin P. Heald, 81, were held at the West Branch Friends church June 1 with burial in the West Branch cemetery. Mr. Heald died at an Iowa City nursing home May 29 following a long illness.

He was born near Centerdale, the son of Louis and Mary Booth Heald, May 1, 1888 and was married to Bessie Tatum at West Branch Nov. 6, 1912. He was a retired carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, 3 sons, Donald I., San Antonio, Texas; Earl T., Richardson, Texas and Roger A., Cedar Falls, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
