Last rites for Gilbert (Bert) Frederick, 73, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 31 at the Sheets and Son funeral home. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

The Rev. Harry W. Poling of the Four Square church will officiate.

Mr. Frederick died May 26 in Veterans hospital, Iowa City.

The son of Daniel and Molly Parrot Frederick, he was born Sept. 15, 1895 at Cedar Bluff and was married to Helen E. Sherwood at Cedar Rapids Sept. 15, 1930.

A lifelong resident of the Tipton area he was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Garey-Whalen post of the American Legion in Tipton and the Veterans of World War I of Cedar county.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Ross (GenEva) Robinson, Ottawa, Canada; a sister, Mrs. Elmer (Sue) Howarth, Cedar Rapids and a brother, Carl, Tipton
