Waldo E. Roehlk, 61, Durant, took his life at his home in Durant May 21. Dr. W. J. Kopsa, Cedar county medical examiner, said that death was due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Roehlk had been despondent because of ill health.

Funeral services were held at Durant May 24, with burial in the Durant cemetery.

Mr. Roehlk was born Aug. 3, 1907 near Bennett, the son of George and Annie Roehlk. He had lived at Durant 33 years.

He married Carma Goettsch March 11, 1931, at Davenport. She preceded him in death in January of 1957. He was a bricklayer by trade and did mason work.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Annie Roehlk, Durant; a son, William G., Galesburg, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. George (Eloise) White, Mill Valley, Calif.; 3 brothers, Harvey, Davenport; Harold, Durant and Edward, New Liberty and 4 grandchildren survive.
