Raymond A. Eserhaut Sr., (1936-2021)

Raymond Allen Eserhaut Sr, 85, of Tipton, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Lutheran Living in Muscatine. There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. The Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine is caring for Raymond’s family and arrangements.

Raymond Allen Eserhaut was born on September 23, 1936 in Wheatland, Iowa, the son of Herman Dick and Caroline (Tolessrud) Eserhaut. He was a graduate of Tipton High School. Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. On June 8, 1963, Raymond was united in marriage to Rosella Jean Coyner in Wilton, Iowa. Raymond worked at ALCOA for 37 years and part-time for over 20 years as a police officer for the City of Tipton Cedar County Sheriff Department and Park Ranger at Wildcat Den. He was an active member of the Tipton Historical Society, Tipton Lions Club and Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors, collecting rocks and genealogy. He was known for his vast knowledge and history of Cedar County.

Raymond will be deeply missed by his wife, Rosella of Tipton; his children, Raymond Eserhaut, Jr. and his wife, Becky of Muscatine and Robin Eserhaut and her husband, Gene of Fairfax and five grandchildren, Drake Eserhaut, Hunter Eserhaut, Allyson Waltz, Bryanna Waltz and EthanWaltz.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents.
