Funeral services for SP5 Robert Lee Brinkman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Brinkman, Kansas City, Mo., former Tipton residents, were held May 12 at St. Mary church in Tipton with burial in the church cemetery.

Requiem high mass was celebrated by the Rev. Ray J. Pacha and the mass was sung by the congregation with Mrs. Reno Droll as organist. Members of Hq and Hq company, United States Displinary Barracks, Fort Leavenworth, Kans., were pallbearers at the military service.

Brinkman was one of 2 persons killed in an auto accident in Savanna, Ill., May 9.

Police said Brinkman was driver of a car that ran off a Savanna street, sheared off a telephone pole and slammed into a tree. A passenger in the car, Annabelle L. Mores, 24, Savanna, was also killed.

Brinkman was stationed at the Savanna Army Ordinance depot.

Robert Lee Brinkman, son of Robert John and Dorothy Lillian (Kofron) Brinkman, was born at Tipton July 17, 1948 and attended the Tipton Community school before moving to Kansas City, Mo., where he graduated from St. Pius the 10th high school in 1965.

Shortly after graduation he entered the army and had been stationed at the Savanna Ordinance depot for 9 months.

He is survived by his parents, a brother, Randall; 3 sisters, Robin, Rebecca and Mrs. Roy Hunnicutt, all of Kansas City, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Brinkman, Tipton.
