Mrs. Lillie A. Hayslett, 73, Iowa City, died late April 30 of a heart attack as she was returning home from work at Mercy hospital.

The body was discovered in an alley near her home by a resident of the area.

Requiem mass for Mrs. Haylsett was held at St. Wenceslaus church with burial in the new section of St. Joseph's cemetery.

Mrs. Haylsett was born on Sept. 2, 1895, in Cedar Valley, to James and Annie Kenney Tucker. She was married to Garrie Hayslett on Feb. 20, 1917, at Cedar Valley. The couple moved to Iowa City in 1943. She was a longtime employee of Mercy hospital where she was a nurse's aide.

She was a member of St. Wenceslaus church and the Altar and Rosary society.

Surviving are 3 sons, Leonard and Lawrence, Tipton, and Philip, Iowa City; a daughter, Mrs. Cecil (Bernice) Petersen, Cedar Rapids; 2 sisters, Mrs. Earl (Irene) Laing, West Branch and Mrs. Elizabeth Horrigan, Tipton; 23 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, a sister and 3 brothers preceded her in death.
