Final rites for Mrs. William (Bertha) Heick, 72, Tipton, were held April 22 at Trinity Lutheran church in Tipton with the Rev. Ben J. Warrenburg officiating. Burial was in Inland cemetery, Bennett.

Mrs. Heick died at Cedar Manor April 19, after an extended illness. She was a resident of Tipton the past 25 years.

Pallbearers were Richard Siemsen, Harlan Siemsen, Leland Heick, Robert Heick, Charles Heick Jr. and George Heick. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Riedesel Jr. sang.

Bertha Dorothea, daughter of Fred C. and Dora (Buck) Siemsen, was born April 24, 1896, in Albion, Nebr. She was educated in the rural Keith county Nebraska schools. she married William Heick Sept. 17, 1919.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, Tipton; past president of the American Legion auxiliary, charter member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and a member of U.L.C.W.

Mrs. Heick is survived by a son, Harold, Tipton; 3 daughters, Mrs. Aaron (Clara) Hein, Davenport; Mrs. Edwin (Edna) Hartwig, Bennett and Mrs. Bernal (Eloise) Shontz, Tipton; 5 brothers, William, Ogallala, Nebr.; Henry, Dixon; John, Scottsbluff, Nebr.; Ernest, Grenada Hills, Calif. and Louis, Davenport; 2 sisters, Mrs. Russell (Dora) Partington, Muskegon, Mich. and Mrs. Frank (Alice) Ferguson, Longmont, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
