Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Grace Ford, 82, were held Monday, April 21, at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence. Mrs. Ford died April 17 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Otto Gottschalk, following a long illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Ralph Schenck. Burial was in the Stanwood cemetery. Mrs. Robert Hasselbusch provided the music. Pallbearers were Henry Ormsby, Ralph Nodurft, Lawrence Kroemer, Carl Haesemeyer, Fred Luedeman and William McGuire.

Bertha Grace Wertz, the daughter of Isaac and Martha Fraseur Wertz. was born near Tipton, in 1886. She had lived her entire life in this community. She was united in marriage to Elmer Ford, July 25, 1903, at Tipton.

She is survived by her daughter, 3 sisters, Mrs. Sara Thomson, Tipton, Mrs. Leanor Sheets, Chicago, and Mrs. Dottie Dill, Thousand Oaks, Calif. and a brother, Herman Wertz, Thousand Oaks, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, 2 brothers and a sister. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors.
